Host Agreement
Effective: [DATE] · Status: Private Beta
This agreement is between Borrow Tokens ("we", "us") and you, an independent hardware contributor ("Host") who enrolls one or more machines ("Nodes") via the bt-runner agent.
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner. You may disable or unenroll your Nodes at any time; we may quarantine or remove Nodes at any time.
- Customer workloads (containers) execute on your GPU under Docker.
- Workloads are dispatched only through the platform; your Node connects outbound to us (reverse tunnel) — you never open inbound ports.
- The beta isolation model is contributor-trusted Docker, not a hardened multi-tenant sandbox. Only enroll machines you accept running third-party containers on.
You agree to:
- Never inspect, log, copy, or interfere with customer traffic or workload content (prompts, code, data, model weights, outputs) beyond what the runner necessarily processes. This is the platform's core trust promise; violation is grounds for immediate removal and forfeiture of unpaid earnings attributable to the violation.
- Keep your Node reasonably available while enrolled and idle-listed; sustained failures lead to automatic quarantine (≥3 failed jobs in 24h).
- Keep drivers, Docker, and
bt-runnerreasonably up to date. - Not manipulate metering, heartbeats, or pricing floors.
- Have the legal right to share the hardware and electricity you enroll.
- You earn cash (USD) per active GPU-second of customer workloads served, at or above the price floor you configure for your Node.
- Beta payouts are manual and monthly, settled via [PayPal / bank transfer / TBD], with a minimum payout threshold of [$25]. Amounts are computed from the platform's append-only billing ledger; a reconciliation report accompanies each payout.
- There are no tokens, points, staking, or yield. Earnings are plain cash payments for services rendered.
- Taxes are your responsibility. Payouts are self-employment income in most jurisdictions. US Hosts may be asked for a W-9 (and receive a 1099 where thresholds are met); non-US Hosts a W-8BEN. We may withhold payouts until required tax forms are provided.
You bear your own electricity, bandwidth, hardware wear, and cooling costs. Enrolling consumer hardware carries inherent risk (thermal load, driver crashes); we are not liable for damage to your equipment, subject to applicable law.
Either party may end participation at any time. We settle earned, reconciled balances above the payout threshold at the next payout cycle. Sections 3.1 (non-inspection, surviving for content you were exposed to) and 4 (taxes) survive termination.
